Several national programmes for maternal and perinatal health care were implemented In Brazil in the last decades. Monitoring fetal death rates (FDR), a sensible health indicator for the quality of antenatal and intrapartum care, could provide valuable information on current challenges of the different country regions. This study aimed at determining fetal death rates according to regional, maternal and pregnancy characteristics and main causes of death in Brazil over the last decade (from 2007 to 2019).
